Marking the start at A Basin in Colorado💫

🗯Didn't expect such a noticeable altitude sickness. The elevation of the accommodation at the foot of the mountain is 2800 meters and the elevation going up the mountain for skiing is 3450 meters. On the first night, my heart rate soared to 95, and a few steps uphill would push my heart rate over 140, causing chest discomfort, fatigue, and shallow sleep.

💫It's also particularly dry, every morning my throat and nasal passages feel uncomfortable. The static electricity is excessive, when returning to our accommodation, the slightest touch would spark, regretting not preparing for altitude sickness.

🧡Fortunately, there are quite a few altitude adaptability supplements in the local whole foods store, bought a bunch, whether useful or not, it's a psychological comfort. I waited two days to adapt before daring to ski. Only two out of seven days of sleep were tolerable, with a daily heart rate of around 90. This also depends on personal physique, my teammate also initially experienced chest discomfort and elevated heart rate, but sleep was not much affected.

🗯A Basin in Colorado is the first to open. Only two blue trails are open, artificial snow, both hard and thin. The first day of skiing was incredible, both slopes were populated with textbook level skiers, alpine skiers had a standard narrow stance + pendulum rhythm, carving on such poor thin snow as if the world was ending. There were also many freestyle skiers flipping and turning. I asked my teammates if this is the average level in Colorado.

🧡As the sole holder of the "old lady's picking up pennies" skiing style in the entire mountain, all I can do is try my best to close my "crab leg" wide stance to protect that little dignity I haven't given up struggling for.
